Plastic Roads in Netherlands
World Economic Forum informs that Netherlands is building roads out of plastic waste that could last 3 times as long as a normal road. They can be recycled into other roads when their life cycle is up.
Premade sections are transported and fixed together removing the need for excavators and steam rollers.
The company says PlasticRoad is lightweight and virtually maintenance free.
VolkerWessels is in talk with Dutch cities to find a location and hopes to build the first usable plastic road within the next 6 months.
