
‘High-voltage Electric Networks’ CJSC Planning To Plant 4.26 Ha Forest in Arevik National Park
Upon the order of ‘High-voltage Electric Networks’ CJSC around 4.26 ha of forest is planned to be planted in the area of Arevik National Park in Zangezour Biospheric Complex CJSC. The forest shall be planted in the area adjacent to the bank of the Boghaqar River. The forest developer is ‘Green Design’ LLC. Thus ‘High-voltage Electric Networks’ CJSC will compensate damage caused to forest cover with forest felling in the frames of the project on the construction of Iran-Armenia air transmission line and relevant substation.
Forest-covered area will be destroyed in the area of 101600 cum in Meghri-Noravan section: 16110 trees will be cut down to lay Iran-Armenia 400 kW second electricity air line. The aim of this project is to increase the annual yearly volume of the electricity exported to Iran.
According to the claim submitted by ‘High-voltage Electric Networks’ CJSC, 12780 trees will be need for planting, out of which 6390 oak trees, 3195 are birtch trees and 3195 are pear and apple trees.
